Getting started
From your invite to your first spend, lead and comment agent, in order. ScalingDeck is invite-only for now, so it starts with asking for access.
Organizations, workspaces and members
- Your organization is your company or agency. Everything you do in ScalingDeck lives inside it.
- A workspace keeps one brand or client apart from the others: its ad accounts, spend, leads, pages, agents and comments. Make one per brand or client. The first one is called "Main" unless you name it.
- Members are the people in your organization. Each has a role:
- Owner: everything, including billing. There is always at least one.
- Admin: everything except billing and owners, in every workspace.
- Member: only the workspaces they are given, as Admin, Editor or Viewer in each one.
- Billing: invoices and payment details only, no workspace data.
- In a workspace: Admin can do everything in it, Editor can change agents, pages and leads, Viewer can only look.
"Workspace" at the top of every screen switches between your workspaces, or shows "All workspaces" together. Tracker always covers the whole organization, so the switch is greyed out there.
1. Get your invite
- Request access: leave your email in the "Request access" box on scalingdeck.com. The page says "You're on the list."
- The ScalingDeck team approves each request by hand. When yours is approved you get an email, "Your ScalingDeck invite", with a link to create your account.
- Joining a team that already uses ScalingDeck? You do not need to ask. Ask them for an invitation link instead (see "Joining someone else's organization" below).
2. Create your account and sign in
- The link in your invite opens ScalingDeck's sign-in page, where you create your account. Use the email address the invite was sent to.
- You confirm your email, then sign in. ScalingDeck never sees your password; password resets happen on the same sign-in page.
- "ScalingDeck is invite-only for now" means that email is not approved yet. "Request access" sends your request to the team (the screen then shows "Request sent" and the date), and they reply by email. "Sign in with a different email" lets you try the address your invite went to.
3. Name your organization and first workspace
On "Create your organization":
- Organization name: your company or agency.
- First workspace: one brand or client. It starts as "Main"; change it to the brand's name if you like.
- You are the organization's owner. "Continue" moves on.
4. Choose what to do first
"What do you want to do first?" decides where you land when setup is done. You can do all three later.
- "Capture leads": starts your first lead flow.
- "Protect my ad comments": connect Meta, then set up your comment agent.
- "See my ad spend": connect your ad accounts.
"Skip, I'll look around" goes straight to the next step.
5. Invite your team
"Invite your team" is optional. Enter an email, pick a role, then "Invite":
- Editor: Editor in all workspaces.
- Viewer: Viewer in all workspaces.
- Admin: Admin of the whole organization.
Each invite makes a link, copied for you. Send each person their link yourself (email, chat). It expires in 7 days. "Finish" (or "Skip for now") takes you to what you chose.
Later, invite more people from Settings, Members with "Invite someone", where you can also give a Member different roles in different workspaces. See Settings.
6. Connect Meta, TikTok and Snapchat
In Connections, choose "Connect Meta", "Connect TikTok" or "Connect Snapchat" and sign in with that platform. You choose which Business and accounts to share. What ScalingDeck reads, and what it never does, is in Connections.
7. Put each account in a workspace
After connecting, every ad account, Facebook Page, Instagram account and TikTok advertiser is listed with what it is used for ("Spend", "Comments", "Lead forms").
- "Needs a workspace": pick one in the Workspace column. The status turns "Ready".
- Many at once: tick them, choose a workspace under "Put them in", then "Apply".
- "Not assigned only" shows what is left to place.
An account in no workspace has no spend yet: spend starts once it is in one.
8. Your first useful things
- Spend: once an ad account is Ready, its spend appears on Reports and on Home under "Spend today". See Reports.
- A first lead flow: on Leads, "+ New lead flow" walks you through Name, Lead sources, Send to and On. See Leads.
- A comment agent: connect Meta and put your Facebook Page in a workspace. Then in Agents, "+ New agent" and "Handle comments on your ads". At first a person approves every hide and reply. See Comments and Agents.
Home keeps a "Set up" list (logins, agents, pages) and a "Needs you" list, so you can see what is still to do.
Joining someone else's organization
- An owner or admin invites you and sends you a link. It works once, only for the email it was made for, for 7 days.
- Opening it shows "You have been invited". Choose "Create your account" if you are new, or "I already have an account" to sign in. Use the email the invitation was sent to.
- You join with the role and workspaces they chose, and land on Connections.
- Already in another organization? The same link adds this one. Switch between organizations with the organization name at the top left.
